Ideologies In the North and the South
The northern states held several diverse ideologies from the southern states. For instance, most states in the North were free states and believed that slavery should be abolished while the southern states were opposed to the abolishment of slavery.
Due to the disagreement between the North and the South, the southern states seceded from the Union.
Another difference in cultural ideologies between the North and the south was that the Northern economy was largely based on trade while the southern economy depended so much on the rural way of life and hence needed slave labor for their agricultural practices.
