Two linear graphs intersect at . One of the graphs has equation and the other one passes
through . Determine the equation of the second line and verify your answer with a graph

I REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE

Respuesta :

I believe the second graph would be y=-(1/m)x+ b

this is because it would be the negative inverse of the original equation! So you would put 1 over the slope. (or just flip the slope, so if it’s 1/2 = m, then it would be -2 now!) then for B you’d keep the same value as the original equation! This should give you two lines with the same slope and y-intercepts!

An example is y=2x + 6
to find the intercepting line you’d make it,
y = -1/2x + 6
