What is a mechanism?

The reaction mechanism shows the sequence of steps through which a reaction occurs.

We shall now itemize the mechanisms by which the reactions occur;

1) Occurs by electrophilic addition

2) Occurs by proton transfer and E2 elimination

3) Occurs by Lewis acid /base mechanism

4) Occurs by SN1 mechanism

We can see that in reaction 1, we can see that bromine is added across a double bond via a brominium intermediate which in an electrophilic addition. In the second reaction proton transfer to the substrate to give the alcohol and subsequently E2 elimination gives the final product.

In the second slide, the third reaction involves a lewis acid base reaction in which electron is transferred to the sodium ion. In the fourth reaction, there is an SN1 reaction because of the polarity of the ICI molecule.
