a known compound has a melting point range of 134-137 degrees C. You record a melting point point range of 125-126 degrees C for a sample. IS this sample a pure compound?

Respuesta :

I believe the sample you have is not a pure compound but a mixture. A mixture contains two or more compounds and each of these compounds has its own melting point which influences the overall melting point of the sample. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
