My own understanding about Desdemona’s character is beauty that disappointed her father which later regret her actions.

What is a character?

A character serves as a figure which could be a person or object that is been used in narrative work.

In William Shakespeare's play, we can see that

Desdemona was one of the characters that elopes with Othello, and this was contrary to the plan of her father.

Therefore, at the end she regretted it and she became sober.
