The glorious revolution was the event that removed king James II out of office and was replaced by one of his daughters in the year 1688-1689 in England, united kingdom.

The king James II agreed to sign the bill of right if his people agreed to his condition and this gave parliament's power over the monarchs.  

This event established a constitutional monarchy by:

  • The parliament having an understanding that the king James II would be overthrown by his own daughter Queen Mary II  and husband, King William II.

This thereby led to a constitutional monarchy and the drafting of the Bill of rights.
