You would subtract 2/3 from 5/6 and that should give you 1/6
x=1/6
assuming that is x+(2/3)=5/6 and not [tex] \frac{x+2}{3} [/tex]=5/6

minus 2/3 both sides
[tex]x= \frac{5}{6} - \frac{2}{3} [/tex]
2/3 times 2/2=4/6
[tex]x= \frac{5}{6} - \frac{4}{6} [/tex]
[tex]x= \frac{5-4}{6} [/tex]
[tex]x= \frac{1}{6} [/tex]
