Rainbow trout is non-native to the United States. However, this species is breeding with the native Gila trout. Scientists recently observed that the Gila trout were becoming extinct. What is the cause of their extinction?

The extinction is caused because when an invasive species comes, they edge out a native one. So since the rainbow trout are mating with the Gila trout, the Gila trout aren't mating as much and the species is starting to decline
