Answer: there is a lot that actually goes on when an officer is dealing with a suspect but all we (civilians) are only shown the "bad" part and we don't know what actually happened to lead up to that "bad" point. There are different levels of action that officers use depending on the situation and at any given moment the situation can change and get worse or better but the officer has to react in that split second and sometimes yes they do mess up but it's hard to know what will happen in that situation.
