As of 2022, there are 27 amendments to the constitution since 1776. This is very obviously greatly changed in the story. The 213 amendments show how big a role the government played in its mission to make everybody "equal." Without these many amendments and changes made from the government, society wouldn't have gotten to the place that it was. The government was a huge cause of the main conflict and idea of this story, by implementing laws and changing what the U.S. stood for.
