What is the blind spot?

The blind spot of the eye is the part of the retina where the optic nerve exits the eye.

It is blind because that region of the retina lacks photoreceptors.

Light falling on the blind spot is not perceived and as such, vision is not possible in the blind spot.

The blind spot for individuals vary and a blind spot test is done to determine the blind spot of each individual.
