Using the basis of how we must represent data on a graph, we can write:
A) The scale is 1, and the maximum value is 7.
B)
- Above 1 we already know that there must be 4 dots.
- Above 4, there must be 6 dots.
- We only will have 3 dots above the 0 (3 students have 0 brothers or sisters).
How to correctly represent the data?
First, we know that the sample has 25 people in it, an we measure the number of brothers, in such a way that the number of brothers/sisters goes from 0 to 5.
Then, the horizontal axis must go from 0 to 4, in such a way that above the 0 we have 3 dots (because 3 students have 0 brothers or sisters), above the 1 we have 4 dots (because 4 students have one brother or sisters), and so on.
7 students have 2 brothers or sisters (that is the largest number) so the vertical axis must go from 0 to 7.
A) The scale of the line plot is 1, each dot represents 1 student. And the greatest value is 7 (for the students with 2 brothers or sisters).
B)
- Above 1 we already know that there must be 4 dots.
- Above 4, there must be 6 dots.
- We only will have 3 dots above the 0 (3 students have 0 brothers or sisters).
