Anti-semitism is antagonism or prejudice towards the jews. A person who holds such a view is called an antisemite. These particular people were very hostile to the jews in the 1930s.

Because of the severe hostility towards the jews in the 1930s, an immigration policy was introduced which helped to protect the jews from severe hostility.
