Task 1

Planning a Presentation

In this task, you'll plan a presentation. You'll first choose a topic. Then you'll do some basic research, determine an

appropriate central idea, and decide what media elements to use.

Part A

Select a topic that you're interested in exploring. Be sure to choose a topic that's interesting to both you and your audience. Ask your teacher to approve your topic and then write it in the table.

Next, write in the central idea or question that you'll focus on. For example, if your topic is "how to be assertive," you

could include a statement about the importance of assertiveness in professional situations. Whatever your topic, you'll

need to narrow your focus enough to deliver a compelling presentation in 5 to 10 minutes.
