I already answered on your previous post, but here's the answer again. By the way, it's still flipped the wrong way

Mark and Lisa both started with 5/4 litres (l),

Mark drank 1/3 l => 5/4 - 1/3 = 11/12 left

Lisa spilled and had 2/5 l left => 5/4 - 2/5 = 17/20 spilled

Answer:

Edmentum!! Haha I also use this for math :/

1. 11 / 12

2. 17 / 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Okay, so there's 5 / 4 for Mark at the start, and he drinks 1 / 3. We need to find common denominators. Now we have:

15 / 12 and 4 / 12 or

15 / 12 - 4 / 12 so he has: 11 / 12 left

And this cannot be simplified.

To find out how much was spilled, we subtract how much she spilled from the total. So let's get some common denominators for 5 / 4 and 2 / 5!

25 / 20 and 8 / 20 aka

25 / 20 - 8 / 20 so: 17 / 20 is how much she spilled

Always check for simplifying, but you're good this time
