We have to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the line segment joining the points a(-8,-7) and B(-4,-6) , Before going further let's understand the concept first ;

  • The coordinates of the Midpoint let's say it be M of the line segment joining the points [tex]{\bf{(x_{1},y_{1})}}[/tex] & [tex]{\bf{(x_{2},y_{2})}}[/tex] is given by :-

[tex]{\quad \qquad \boxed{\bf{M= \left(\dfrac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2},\dfrac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2}\right)}}}[/tex]

So , now using the Above Formula which is known as Midpoint formula for the given points we have ;

[tex]{:\implies \quad \sf M=\left(\dfrac{-8-4}{2},\dfrac{-7-6}{2}\right)}[/tex]

[tex]{:\implies \quad \sf M=\left(\dfrac{-12}{2},\dfrac{-13}{2}\right)}[/tex]

[tex]{:\implies \quad \bf \therefore \quad \underline{\underline{M=\left(-6,\dfrac{-13}{2}\right)}}}[/tex]
