Heterotrophs are organisms that consume other organisms in order to gain energy. Compare two different categories of heterotrophs in
terms of how they obtain energy. Explain your answer in one to two sentences. (2 points)

Respuesta :

Primary consumers and secondary consumers are both heterotrophs. These organisms cannot produce their own food.

What are consumers?

In a food web, consumers are heterotrophic organisms that need to eat other organisms to survive.

Primary consumers such as herbivores and secondary consumers such as carnivores are heterotrophic animals because they cannot produce their own food.

These animals are mutually related in a food web because the removal of primary consumers may lead to a decrease (even removal) in the population of the next trophic level.
