We are given the area of the base of the figure and the height.

The volume for area is length * width

That means that the length * width part of the volume formula is already done, so we just have to multiply that by the height.

We know that:

  • Volume = L × B × H
  • If L and B are multiplied, they will find the area of the base.
  • L × B = Area of base of rectangular prism.

If L and B are multiplied, they will find the area of the base.

This means that:

  • Area of base of rectangular prism = L × B = 3 3/8 units²
  • Volume = Area of base of rectangular prism × H

Substitute the area of base of rectangular prism in the volume formula.

  • Volume = Area of base of rectangular prism × H
  • => Volume = 3 3/8 × H

Substitute the height in the volume formula.
