Personal essays are usually long extended paragraphs explaining who you are/describing yourself. In personal narratives, you're introducing yourself extendedly, either to people who have never met you(most of the case), or people who already know you and just want to discover more about you. Personal Narratives, as i like to call them... can be funny, have a serious tone, silly, sad/depressing or extend between all three categories or usually more. However, it's your article, so you can do whatever you like to it......within reasoning that is.
