To find area of first figure:

As it is given in question shaded shape is made by joining a square and a rhombus. It is clearly visible that the first figure is square.

So to find Area of a Square:-

We know :-

Area of square = side²

To find area of second figure:

So we have find area of square and now as in question given next shape is rhombus.

Therefore Area of first figure is equal to 22.5 cm²

Area of whole shaded figure:

⇢A = Area of first figure + Area of second figure

⇢ A = 25 + 22.5

[tex] \\ [/tex]

⇢ A = 47.5 cm²

[tex] \\ [/tex]

Therefore Area of whole shaded figure is equal to 47.5 cm².
