Answer: The 2nd one because the 1st one is based off of midwestern culture, and that wouldn't fit into the southern lifestyle of Florida, so to speak. Also, Florida is notorious for some of its counties having generally high crime rates, so not only would it make sennse to have a crime story featured in Florida, it would also catch the interest of readers . This is why I believe thte 2nd option is more suitable, and not the first.
