In this lesson, you learned how writers structure a story and use language to show the order of events in the story. Look back at the story sequence chart you made, and the text Jess and Layla’s Astronomical Assignment. Think about how the author shows the order of events.
When you’re done with your highlighting activity, write a paragraph about what key words alerted you to sequence of events in the passage you highlighted. Cite specific words or phrases that you used to identify the order of events. Then, write or upload your paragraph below. Let your Learning Guide know when you are finished.

Answer:

There were 3 sentences that had words that showed a sequence of events.

One sentence, sentence number 2, which used the words “Just Then”.

The words “Just Then” show time order because it shows first, next, THEN and so on.

Next, the sentence “4” showed the sequence by using the word “Soon”.

This sentence shows the sequence because when someone says “soon,” it's like First, you mix the cookie batter, Soon we will cook it.

Finally, the sentence that showed the sequence was the one that stated “finally”.

This shows sequence because usually after a sequence order, the last sequence would say finally , lastly, and etc.
