I believe what you have to use is [tex]a^{2} +b^{2} = c^{2}[/tex]
with the 10 being c, and 6 being a.
so then you would use the equation as such, [tex]10^{2}-6^{2} =b^{2}[/tex]
resolve the numbers to power first, [tex]100-36=64[/tex]
however, to officially get the answer you must square root 64 in order to get the [tex]c^2[/tex] variable, [tex]\sqrt{64}= 8^2[/tex]
