If a college savings account makes $75 a year in interest and after four years, the account has $850 this can be written in a coordinate form as (1, 75) and (4, 850)

Get the slope

slope m = 850-75/3

m = 258.33

Get the y intercept

75 = 258.33(1) + bb

75 - 258.33= b

b = - 183.33

Hence an equation that represents the amount of money in the account ,y, after x years is y  = 258.33x - 183.33
