The cockroach originated on Earth more than 250 million years ago and is thriving today all over the world. A giant deer (more than 2m tall!) evolved less than 1 million years ago and become extinct around 11,00 years ago.

Why do YOU think one animal thrived and the other perished?

Answer:

I believe one lived and the other became extinct is because of hunters. No one really cares about cockroaches because they serve no purpose whatsoever other than just being a burden to society. But the deer, can be killed for meat, as a coat, as a rug, etc. So no wonder its gone now. I'm not justifying killing animals for meat and its fur is okay, I'm just explaining what it can go to use for, and what other people would use it for.

That's what I think. :)

Hope this helps!

Brainliest please?

Answer:

The cockroach thrived because of its number and survivability they can survive nukes and still walk just fine. They are not on the hit list for humans to hunt because they gain no benefit. The dear was a huge target with lots of meat and fur for humans to hunt and the male giant dear had antlers so big that if one broke they would fall and break their neck from the weight. Also being big means they could not hide in the forest to hide from predators at the time Cave Bears, saber tooths, Cave lions, and humans because they would get stuck in the tree and shrubs cus of their antlers, that's why they perished.
