After reading each sentence and analyzing the subjects, we can complete them with "has", "have", "was" or "were" in the following manner:
a. I was fat in my childhood.
b. This phone has many new features.
c. Ram and Ravi were good friends.
d. They have new bags.
"Was" and "were"
Both "was" and "were" are past forms of the verb "to be". "Was" is used with the first and the third persons singular - "I", "he", "she", "it". In sentence A, the subject is "I", which is why we should use "was" to complete the sentence.
"Were" is used with all the other persons of speech, which is why it is more appropriate in letter C. The subject "Ram and Ravi" is plural (they).
"Has" and "have"
"Has" is the present form of the verb used only for the third person singular - "he", "she", "it". That is why it should be used in letter B. The subject "This phone" can be replaced by "it".
On the other hand, we must use "have" in letter D because of the plural subject "they". "Have" is used with all persons except for the third person singular.
