There are a lot of terms associated with child birth. When babies are either full term or preterm and their birth weight is below normal for their age, they are called small for date infants.

What are small for date infants?

  • This is known to as small for gestational age. It simply means a term that is often used to show how a baby who is said to be a little bit  smaller than the usual weight for the amount of weeks of pregnancy.

The SGA babies are known to always have birthweights that falls below the 10th percentile rate for babies of the same type of gestational age.
