People often make investment. Foreign investment is known to be a kind of  investment in domestic companies and assets of another country and it is usually done by a foreign investor such as ownership stakes in a firm.

While the type of aid is given by World Bank are known to be to only to provides financing, policy advice,  technical assistance to governments of developing countries etc.

Differences between foreign investment and foreign aid?

In foreign investment, an investor is entitled to some shares or interest in the company or firm invested in but in the case of aids given by world banks and UNDP, theirs is to offer assistance and not exploit the people.

In terms of area of  focus, investors often capture places that they can have high potential profits or high returns but the World bank focuses on the world's poorest countries.
