  • They also needed laws and contracts to help them protect their property rights.
  • It was based on the use of social hierarchy and it depicts the importance of class distinctions.
  • It also shows the importance of business, trade, and family that is found in the Babylonian Empire.
  • These codes tell us that the Babylonians often work for everything they have.

What does the Jewish Ten Commandments tell us about early Jewish societies?

The Jews were known to believe they are God's chosen people through the commandment and that the early Jewish societies followed the divine direction of God.

The early Jewish societies believe they have set an example of right behavior to the rest of the world. Everything the early Jewish societies did was based on the use of the Ten Commandments.

The commandment was said to have guided society and government of the earliest Jewish people.

The book facing mount Kenya is said to teach us that the lives of early Neolithic farmers who are known as the Gikuyu have the main occupation of  practicing agriculture. They were known to cultivate grains such as maize, beans, etc. They also kept livestock, e.g. cows, goats, etc.
