What is a theme?

It should be noted that "Do not go gentle into that good night" by Dylan Thomas is about the subject of death. The theme is focused on fighting against death. The poem tells us not to give up easily when it says “Rage, rage against the dying the light which indicates a fight. Also, the tone is angry and it uses assonance by repeating O’s sounds, showing repetition.

"The charge of the light brigade" was written by Alfred Lord Tennyson after the battle of the balaclava. This battle was during the Crimean war. The lack of doctors and nurses led to the deaths of many British soldiers. Alfred Lord Tennyson gives imagery of being in the battle.
