The most likely cause of this distress is as a result of Left-sided

pneumothorax.

What is Pneumothorax?

This is also referred to as collapsed lungs which is caused by air leaking

into the space between the chest wall and lungs.

The symptoms include decreased breath sounds and a bright glow when

transillumination is carried out as a result of the presence of air in the

area. When the left side is affected it is referred to as Left-sided

pneumothorax and vice versa.
