Lincoln objected to the enlistment of black men into the Union Army at
the beginning of the war because he didn't want to push border states
like Missouri over to the Confederacy.
Emancipation involves setting people free from social or political
restrictions. The Blacks were restricted from certain functions in the
society and were used as Slaves.
Lincoln changed his position in the Emancipation Proclamation in order to
gain more support from the people so as to become relevant in
