I don’t know the exact dates of the timeline of when these events happened but some events which happened overtime which altered the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans include:
- Water vapour in the atmosphere condensed as the Earth cooled to form oceans
- Carbon dioxide levels in the early atmosphere began to decrease after organisms such as algae evolved to carry out photosynthesis, causing an increase in oxygen in the atmosphere overtime, allowing animals to live
- Nitrogen was released by volcanoes, as it is unreactive it gradually built up in the atmosphere
- Carbon dioxide dissolved in the oceans as the oceans began to form, further decreasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere
