What is conflict?
In literature, conflict is the struggle between two opposing forces that motivates the actions of the characters. We have two types of conflicts: external and internal.
External conflict happens when something outside the character causes that character to struggle. Society and nature would be an example. On the other hand, internal conflict happens when the character struggles with him- or herself.
Suppose a character is having a hard time making a decision. It is the character's own thoughts that are hindering him. Thus, we have an internal conflict.
