I hate the fact that I had to leave Hidaya. But it only goes
up to tenth grade because it doesn't have enough
funding to offer eleventh and twelfth grades. My best
friends, Leila Okulgen and Yasmeen Khan, moved on to
a public high school close to Coburg, where they live. I
begged my parents to let me go with them but Mom and
Dad insisted that I go to a private school.

After reading the passage from "Does My Head Look Big in This?" we can say that the narrator's tone is the following:

C. Resentful.

To be resentful means to feel angry at someone for treating you unfairly.

In the excerpt we are analyzing here, the narrator is clearly angry. She reveals that, first, by saying she hates the fact that she had to leave Hidaya.

Then, she moves on to let us know that her parents would not allow her to go to school with her friends.

The narrator is clearly resenting the fact that things did not turn out the way she wanted.

With that in mind, we can choose letter C as the best option for her tone.
