Unfortunately, racism does still exist in society today, although we have made some strides to prevent this from occurring, it is still very real.
Racism really does have a lot of negative impacts on society and the individuals in it as well. There are different types of racism as well,
and all the types are equally as harmful. While racism is present in the physical world, it is largely present online, on various social media
platforms. It is much harder to control online as well. This is a touchy area to control too, because of everyone's right to the first
amendment, but there is a fine line between racism, and harmful language and speaking freely. Social media companies need to do more
to curb racism from occurring on their platforms, as doing so will only create a better experience for all uses, and also help to create a safer
atmosphere where people can explore themselves freely. Social media companies can easily do this as well with the technology they
already have, it is just a matter of them wanting to do so.
