Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the graph of the given equation.

To find the parallel :
First of all, Parallel equations should have the same slope and a different y-intercept!
Take the equation of a linear function : y = mx + b, the slope here is m and the y intercept is b.
When we’re given a point (x,y), we write our equation in the y = mx + b form, then substitute the given point for (x,y) and solve for B!
Practice
We already know our equation will be in the form y = mx + b
And we also know that the slope will be the same : m = 4/7
So y = 4/7x + b
Lets find b !
The line passes through the point (0,0) of origin :
0 = 4/7*0 + b
b = 0
So the y intercept is b = 0
And finally the equation will be :
y = 4/7x
Good Luck
