The intimacy in middle childhood is different because the child is still
dependent on his parents and guardians. This makes the intimate
relationship of a child to be apparent in his peers, parents and guardians.
The intimacy in adolescent and young adults however changes as there is
little or no dependence on parents . This gives rise to them having intimate
relationships with other adults , friends and partners. Romantic
relationships are usually more pronounced in older people than in younger
