Personally, I do not think judicial review violates representative democracy. This is due to the checks and balances rule. With checks and balances, each governing branch has the authority to check other branches of governments. Without judicial review, the laws would not be considered evaluated for constitutional purposes. Yes, the people vote in the law, but whether or not it is constitutional is up to the Supreme Court (judicial branch).
