Females were usually housewives without any real jobs and they were just at home cleaning the house/taking care of the children. As time went on women wanted to be free as they would never be able to show their arms or even ankles. Pubs and bars started to open up and women were finally allowed to dress how they wanted by the 1920s they were able to express themselves more than ever. Unlike before when it was considered scandalous to show any skin or to let your hair down. Women then were not allowed jobs.
