well because of the big bang things are being pushed out further and and further away witch is why u see ..well here's an example a star that is 1 billion years old now let's go forward in time it's now 2 billion years old you would see what that star looked like 1 billion years ago and not what it looks like now because it took 1 billion years for the light from the star to reach your very eyes
