When me and my parents visited a mall nearby, I saw an item that I really loved to buy which cost 97 pesos but I have no money in my pocket. So I borrowed 50 pesos each on my father and mother in total of 100 pesos. I paid for the item and the vendor gave me 3 pesos for change. I returned 1 peso on my father and another 1 peso on my mother. So I only owe each of them 49 pesos and the money I have is only 1 peso. But when I add my debt from my mom and dad which sums up to 98 pesos and the 1 peso in me the total is only 99. The question is where is the missing 1 peso to make it a total of 100?

the whole $100 was from your parents, and none of the change is yours. After giving back each parent one dollar, you actually still owe them . 50.So if you originally owe each of them 50, and the change is 3, that means half of the 3 goes to each of your parents, and you stole

There's no missing money. Take a look at the problem carefully....

Your parents gave you 50 pesos each, if you return 1 peso to them respectively then the money you owe them altogether will be 98 pesos (49 + 49 = 98). Now, you have the remaining 1 peso with you that you got from the shopkeeper. Subtract it from the 98 pesos you have. You'll get 97 pesos, which is = to the amount you payed for the shirt. Simple!
