Sharing scientific information would help us cure diseases and plan for future ones, as we would have the cure for a similar disease in the past. If someone made a interesting discovery and did not share it it could cause a number of problems, it would leave the scientific community behind, they would waste their time trying to find the same thing but you already have the answer, for doctors and other careers, if one did not share it could lead to lethal incidents for the person making the discovery hadn’t shared the information needed to complete a task.
