The feudal system is a type of social and political system in which landholders provide land to tenants in exchange for their loyalty and service. The feudal systen developed because people needed prorection from invaders since the Roman Empire had fallen. The feudal system started at the top with the kimg granting his lamd to a baron for soldiers all the way down to a peasant getting land to grow crops.
