1)A chocolate bar measures 10 cm long by 2 cm wide and is 2 cm thick

a)Calculate the volume of one bar.

b)How many bars each 2 cm long, 2 cm wide and 2cm thick have the same total volume?

c)A pendulum makes 10 complete oscillations in 8 seconds. Calculate the time period of the pendulum

Respuesta :

a) volume = length*width*height
so the volume = 10*2*2
= 40cm^2

a)The volume of one bar will be 40 cm³. The volume of the bar is the product of the length,breadth and height.

What is volume?

The term “b” refers to the amount of three-space taken up by an item or a surface. It is denoted by V and its SI unit is in cubic cm.

The volume is found as;

[tex]\rm V = lbh \\\\ V= 10 \times 2 \times 2 \\\\ V= 40 \ cm^3[/tex]

b)The no of  bars each 2 cm long, 2 cm wide and 2 cm thick have the same total volume will be;

The given volume is v'

[tex]\rm v'= lbh \\\\ v'=2 \times 2 \times 2 \\\\ V= 8 \ cm^3[/tex]

[tex]\rm n= \frac{total \ volume }{given volume }\\\\ n= \frac{v}{v'} \\\\ n= \frac{40}{8} \\\\ n= 5[/tex]

Hence, the no of the bars for the given volume will be 5.

c)A pendulum makes 10 complete oscillations in 8 seconds. The time period of the pendulum is;

[tex]\rm T = \frac{N}{t} \\\\\ T= \frac{10}{8} \\\\ T= 1.25 \ oscillation /sec[/tex]

Hence, the time period of the pendulum will be 1.25 oscillation/sec.
