In humans, alleles for a gene locus on autosomes are inherited from both
parents.
Humans have 22 pairs of autosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes
which gives rise to a total of 46 chromosomes. The chromosomes are
involved in DNA replication by cells of the body.
Thy are however gotten from both parents in order to pass on and incorporate some traits from the parents to the offsprings.
