Answer:
The scientific method is a way of answering just about any question you can think of... well there's a little more to it than that;
The scientific method is a step of procedures in which scientists do in order to gain information about the world.
There are different versions of the method depending upon which field you work in, but there are 6 common steps that most methods include:
1 Question
Propose a problem to solve.
2 Hypothesis
A possible answer to the problem or a prediction.
3 Experiment
An investigation that is performed in order to answer your question or to test your hypothesis.
4 Observation
a statement of knowledge gained through the senses or through the use of scientific equipment.
5 Analysis
comparing the results of the experiment to the prediction posed by the hypothesis.
6 Conclusion
the end result of the analysis. A claim based on the experiment whether the findings were supported or refuted by the hypothesis.
Some scientists do the steps in different orders or do the steps many times over to be sure of their claim. for example, in astronomy, you can't do experiments on stars light-years away, and therefore most of the experiments in astronomy consist of observation rather than physical experiments.
