The central idea for Hair Love is that the little girl really dislikes her hair since she cannot style it herself. She even tries to get her father to do it, but he does not know when to start.
He acts as if the child's hair was a monster, and metaphorically fights it in a boxing arena. The father put a beanie on, showing that he gave up, and so the child started to cry and ran off to her bedroom. Her dad was gloomy at the reaction, but then heard his significant other talk on a video. Talking about confidence and motivation. He got confident and listened to the video closely, finally doing the child's hair.
