A perfect super predator is a concept that can never become a reality due to the natural process of evolution.
Throughout the ages, many predators have come and gone. The long-extinct megalodon was one of the most ferocious predators to ever live, whilst the Dragonfly boasts the highest success rate per hunt at 95%. Despite the impressive statistics, no predator has ever managed to achieve a kill rate of 100%.
This is in part due to the nature of evolution and the predator-prey relationship. The predator-prey relationship forces the advancement of evolution for each species through natural selection. The prey will evolve to become better suited for survival by evolving traits to help them escape, meaning that until the predator does the same in order to once again be able to capture the prey, it will fail during hunts. This endless cycle of predator and prey dynamic makes a 100% success rate during hunts impossible.
