Social stratification is the way in which society is grouped into social strata recognizable according to different criteria of categorization. It takes into account the conformation of groups according to established and recognized criteria, such as occupation and income, wealth and status, social, economic or political power.

TWO BASIC TYPES:

ndividuals have no mobility (In Slavery if you were born as a slave you die as a slave).
